It was so wonderful getting in the car and knowing it was the last day and we’d be there tonight. Today went much smoother. Caleb napped again very well in the car, and was still entertained by the movies :) He also got to ride in the truck with Daddy and Grandpa, and loved it! My mom, Caleb and I went on ahead of the truck once we got to the mountains because the truck had to slow down so much and it wasn’t necessary for Caleb to have to stay in the car any longer than needed. The last part of the trip seemed to fly by, probably because I was beginning to recognize the area and was so giddy and excited to finally be here! We made great time and arrived in Deer Park around 5 pm! A way shorter day than yesterday that is for sure. It still feels like a dream and that I’m going to wake up and we still have 2 weeks till we move. That or like we’re just visiting. Someday it’ll sink in :) Thank you for the prayers, we have made it safely!!</p> Thank you to everyone for the warm welcomes! It’s so good to be back.<div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-79083247633145655082010-10-05T23:30:00.000-05:002010-10-08T13:09:24.328-05:00Day #2- I think I can, I think I can<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">Had a pretty rough evening, Caleb didn’t sleep well and decided it was time to get up around 4am…ugh. Somehow we still didn’t get on the road till 9:30, though we planned to leave at 8. Caleb slept much better in the car today {probably due to the lack of sleep the night before}, and we found something he really enjoyed…the DVD player. We watched A LOT of movies. I’m usually one to not let him watch much t.v., but it’s a matter of survival these days. We also somehow miscalculated the mileage, and missed a whole 5 hours {an additional 5 hrs} of driving. Instead of a 9 hour day’s worth of driving to get to Billings, Montana…it was going to be a 14 hour drive!! Yikes! So we ended up skipping Mt. Rushmore {which we’d already seen on our way down, but wanted Jake and Caleb to be able to}, and making very quick stops. By about 8pm Caleb was exhausted and ready to go to bed, so we got him all in his pjs and tucked him in his ‘car seat’ :) hoping he’d go to sleep and then we could sneak him in to the hotel and he’d stay asleep…HAHAHA!!! He definitely fell asleep, and he definitely woke up when we arrived at the hotel, and he was definitely not interested in going back to sleep. It was the funniest hour that I’ve seen from this child. He was soooo wired and determined not to let sleep consume him. He ran and ran and screamed and screamed, just being a silly kid. We’re finally all going to bed around 12 am, Missouri time {remember how I said earlier he had woke up at 4am this morning…yeah, you could say there are a few cranky pants in our room and I’m one of them}. Hopefully he sleeps better tonight, not sure if I can function without another night of no sleeping.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></p>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-51808160316702970332010-10-04T22:30:00.001-05:002010-10-08T12:58:36.128-05:00Day #1- Don’t say you’re bored<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">That’s what I told the guys {who were driving alone in their own cars} at our first stop. What an adventure!!! Glad to be done for the day, laying here with nothing to worry about. We had a very late start to our drive (about 3 ½ hours), took a lot longer than we thought to clean up the house and get everything out and into the cars. Left Columbia at about 11:30 and Caleb hadn’t had his nap yet so he crashed by the time we drove out of the driveway, it was a great start to the trip. At that point I thought, yeah I can do this for three days…then he woke up. No, just joking around…he was fairly pleasant once he woke up, well rested and happy. The challenging part was once he got tired of Mommy’s magic tricks throwing everything I gave him and screaming if I even looked at him {mom’s you know what I’m talking about}. He became more and more tired, but wouldn’t sleep. It was up and down from then on {when Jacob would call he’d ask if we had cranky Caleb or crazy (silly) Caleb}. We finally made it to our goal for the day Sioux Falls, SD. And actually made pretty good time, checking into the hotel at 8pm. Caleb finally got to go to sleep and now it’s time for all of us to rest up…to do it all tomorrow! Thankfully no house clean-up, just hit the road in the morning. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></p>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-24149632729417317362010-10-03T22:14:00.002-05:002010-10-03T22:32:19.707-05:00Load 'er Up!<div style="text-align: justify;">So today was our loading the truck {& trailer} day...and it went fairly well. I'll say this from the beginning, this is just a breif update/summary type post and I'm exhausted so I'll apologize ahead of time for any odd wording, misspellings, and all the other things that come with an over worked brain :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Had some trouble when picking up the moving truck this morning {of course, isn't that to be expected}, but I think the guys have got it all worked out. Had a lot of good helpers show up to load the truck {and Jacob's dad who flew down from WA...and has been a HUGE help!}. It went extremely fast and we actually had less stuff than we thought! Caleb did very well!! It was tough cuz he wanted to be down and with 'the guys' and mean ole mommy had to stop him, but he still did great and was in a pretty good mood {maybe his teeth will leave him alone for the next few days, and not cause him pain}. Hopefully this is a preview to the next few days, and he'll do just fine!!...maybe. It was definitely a loooong day and there's still clean up work to do in the morning, and load up the cars that we're driving. And call me crazy but...I'm actually looking forward to tomorrow. To be able to sit, even if its in a car for hours on end with a 1 yr old, and know that its done and we're on our way. Maybe its just that it'll be a <i>different </i>kind of stress :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;">I'm kind of glad that's its been crazy...keeps me from having too big of a break down about actually leaving. Looking forward to whats to come, but going to miss some of what we're leaving behind...</div><div style="text-align: justify;">I'll try to keep updated posts of the trip, depends on the computer's battery and internet availability. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Washington, here we come!!!!!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-33620053045920808022010-09-24T23:11:00.002-05:002010-09-25T00:04:01.847-05:00Moving<div style="text-align: justify;">A little late on posting this, but we've finally set a date for moving! We'll be getting our moving truck on October 3rd and then will be leaving Missouri on the 4th. We set the date a couple weeks ago, and have been making and finalizing all the plans to make it happen. I'm still a bit in shock that its finally going to happen, I've known its been coming and wishing it'd be here but to actually have the move date set...its just weird. I'm very anxious...excited beyond belief, but extremely nervous at the same time. I've got all these ideas of what it'll be like and I'm hoping that I'm not...putting my standards too high, you know? And that I'll then feel let down. I just need to have faith and know that we'll be taken care of. So anyhow, we have been packing, planning, and trying to soak up as much as we can of being here before we go. I have a hard time letting go of things and big changes...so we'll see how I do with this move :) We'll also see how Caleb will do...being in a car for 3 days, staying in hotels, having a complete lifestyle change...for a little while that is. Hopefully I'll be able to do updates of the move, just depends how crazy things get. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">On a different note, I've recently been struck with this awareness of how much we cram our lives with pointless...time wasters, information, events, etc. {on a <i>completely </i>different note I know}. And its just really stuck with me. All the technology that we just can't live without and must be connected to, how many things {tv, internet, phones, social events, sports, fashion, etc.} distract from our relationships with our family and ultimately God. Where does the focus need to be and what do we spend more time focusing on? What are we willing to give up? This isn't to be a downer, just something that I've been really thinking about and trying to work on :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Some Caleb tidbits {because he always lightens things up, and this post kinda needs it}:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">~Everything is still all about dogs: he finds a dog in all his books, says the word 'dog' 100 times a day, when he gets up in the morning he wants to see his dog, he even pretends to be a dog sometimes...didn't know they did that this early :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">~He makes the cutest owl sound</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">~His molars are coming in :(</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">~Loves to give high-fives and will shake your hand {and kiss it before he lets go...totally his own thing, didn't teach him to}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">~Has picked some favorite blankets and stuffed animals {up till recently he hasn't cared much for them}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">~Loves to play with his cars and makes car noises</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-6775024983506666052010-09-11T02:52:00.002-05:002010-09-11T14:45:48.502-05:00TGIS<div style="text-align: justify;">Instead of TGIF, I'm thinking TGIS(aturday). This week's been a rough one, and I'm kinda glad it's about over. And Caleb's got proof that's its been a rocky ride...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUJEosfDcTaASX5mT8SP3_foo5dS6WKPrV9ckHlFuTr5BLNyYY_g03LYZcx7PY0C08fhUoZsFt-57Jh4ZHnnm3db_sb2UgtXUNJYw0FzzUFrZouQ-gjDbaWR94RsJG5jiwn7d4cNW55Nmm/s400/DSC02793.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">He got this boo-boo yesterday morning {picture doesn't quite capture it}, and its still a mystery how it happened. We know there was a table, blanket, an excited little boy and possibly a toy car involved. I was making the bed when he went running down the hall carrying a blanket and then I heard a crash and then, the crying. I found him sitting by a table in our living room, possible scenarios: Tripped over the blanket fell into the table, had blanket over his head and ran into the table, tripped over the toy car in the hallway and fell into the table. Who knows exactly how it played out but he was definitely beat up with a rug burned cheek, a welt down the side of his face and ear, a scratched up chin and a bloody fat lip. How he managed to do all this with one little spill is beyond me. He was over it after a few minutes of course, even if I wasn't.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The night before that he also took a tumble. He loves trying to get our dog's tail, and for the most part she plays along. She'll sit right in front of him waiting for him to get it and as soon as he tries she'll jump away. Well this particular night he was in his game and was a bit quicker than she expected. When he did get a hold of it and she would try to jump away, Caleb would end up flopping on the ground...he found this hilarious! Until they did this little act on the tile floor and Caleb ended up doing a little twisty flip and hitting his head. That left a nice little knot/bruise {didn't show up in the previous picture, hair was covering it}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The previous day {no falling this time} Caleb's breakfast didn't quite agree with him so he decided to give it back to me...my nice way of saying he threw up on me, <i>twice</i>. Its the first that he's gotten sick and it was kinda scary {first time mom, first time seeing babe not well}, but we made it through it. And in a gross kind of way, it was really sweet. When he didn't know what was going on and was a little scared he came to me, wanted me to make it better. Makes me love being a Mom, even if it means getting thrown up on {now in a few years when he knows what to do he better run to the bathroom, not my lap :) }. The day didn't end much better. During bath time, he learned to lean over and stick his mouth in the water. He had fun with that till he inhaled and sucked in a bunch of water. Caleb's not really much of a crier, but in this instance he was sobbing...really scared him. Took quite a while to get him to calm down.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Each of these cases on their own wouldn't have been a week changing event, but piled on together just made for a rough going week. Along with some bummer let downs with the whole moving situation, I'm looking forward to this next week and hoping it brings some more smiles and less tears.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">{A few of the more happier moments of the week}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihDMPT4TD1KEM0x1KJvSeLuC8Mvi6QsFC3blvP7NQkIJpX3ywCenoy04ENQDUAoRylTE1p7GKeoITOLcpuo7Bf_vV2_EjM83ivrbYAU7_zxlwFVS90yB9_O4V4ETVY7c9kDrxrkBy5RN5C/s400/DSC02683.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">loves being outside, and watching his daddy</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGqa-Ph-7yiIz1DRREdTsvrlZPV0_vClM-2ymZXh29ouFVT1s9vynWrsMjmNRTrII28MN4DmZMXb6_0Gp4VuQfo_jZlFAexAHKOQfnR4bGlZzOByYNR1sWFwGFTP_7LlxWUMN6JFJtu-4h/s400/DSC02822.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">had fun playing with the boxes before we packed them up</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-77457437525502975132010-09-04T14:55:00.000-05:002010-09-04T14:55:10.501-05:00Give me a sign<div style="text-align: justify;">Figured I needed to do a Caleb update, he's learning and doing new things everyday. I've heard people say that about their child before, but WOW I didn't realize how true it was. I keep thinking he's too young to know how to do some of the things he does...but truth is he's just growing up and I'm having a hard time realizing it :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*A few months ago at our Dr. checkup, she asked if he was saying sounds or any words...well he'd say mama or dada occasionally and we thought he was trying to say dog but he really didn't say sounds. He did though growl, scream, do motor sounds, all sorts of noises...just not word sounds. I was a tiny {very tiny} bit worried. No worries now! A few weeks ago he just started making actual word sounds and began saying some words quite regularly. Now he'll copy words we say {whether he's actually saying the word or imitating...}. Its so exciting!! But before he started all this, I had something else to be excited about. We worked on signing with Caleb from about 10 months+ and at around 12 months he started really signing and learning them so fast. So I was just excited about the signs and trying to not be too worried about him not saying words. I'm planning on doing a little counter on here to update the # of signs he knows {words are hard because like I said I can't tell if he's just copying or actually saying the word}. As of now he knows to sign food, milk, more, drink, all done, dad, tree, ball, dog, book, cheerios/o's, and...that's all I can think of for now :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*He loves his dog. Loves to pet her, throw her ball, watch her run, listen to her whine, and tackle her from time to time.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Loves the outdoors! If you're looking out a window, he's right by your side wanting to look too. One of the few times he throws a fit is when its time to come inside, it just breaks his heart </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Sings E-I-E-I-O whenever he hears "Old McDonald" or sees his Old McDonald book</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Nods his head yes and says "yep" to everything {unless you're telling him 'no', then he shakes is head and says 'noooo'} and he does all this with the funniest expression, usually eyebrows raised</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*His hair is getting fairly long and I'm considering a cut...maybe</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*He points at everything, walks around w/that little pointer finger stickin out</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Blows kisses</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Wants to read books all. day. long. and usually the same ones over and over {and over}<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Is learning his facial features {all though he still mixes them up}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">*Loves shutting doors :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Here are some pictures of the crazy boy:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div Day of Cheap Fun!<div>You can spend quite a bit on <i>fancy toys</i>, <i>gadgets</i>, and <i>trips</i> to have fun...but some of the best fun is when it doesn't cost a mint! Today was just one of those days...</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">A bowl of water, a paintbrush and the perfect weather</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy-vikVOdLWsKCZe_kK_wnQJ_9pk-mvoWLV67nLgmnux3xbw2EA57rG74i82Rkz041py6ktfyeX5U8bdHvrEcGc2CE_TO02gBt1p5EMsNBNGK6Nr2gjJfbAfdkKQDdaH0IduJ7gpRD6z99/s400/DSC02554.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlwcRBKpFNDjAJIvMgCK74ObQkfoXZTI-IgPatuCoUqpE5SgEM-eeE4S9XGyM5lz888eG7cB4uHudN1FaRyczAo1k7HIYi3MC23gbj_Zw1Iw1jd5A2i97pP6tOT7ZRz5JwJ23s8SXyvDKw/s400/DSC02544.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3URuzzmm0YzEkXqv_unoUcD9vkafUXf8toxUa7Nh40RA7z1JndI791mDpcOLON7-WECDuhAKeLiOML9qf8k0Ah7BvhkWN24NVq9jeWqgw2A5_NNXMPtnTlLJrS_s9qG7WXv_PpKnhyphenhyphenZn9/s400/DSC02573.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">He sure had fun 'painting' the deck, the door, and Mommy's feet</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">so much, that it was hard to get him to look up for a picture...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV5aXOhQMC5pHinChtHWFmQZkIGu0eP-TU5U16Y3QYdO0t05PJkmZqFODDYPZ2a8y7ijEjyuXCb8EO5Wp_7xmu10a-D1oCRWJR2ky6Tkt0O-OVTwM7DKXMXAwUFJv2xhWyKVR7huWzG_aW/s400/DSC02578.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Caleb also found some cheap fun of his own...something that I didn't quite approve of. I thought he was playing too nicely in the living room, just cooing and babbling away. Turns out he was just talking with his new little friend. When I looked down and saw him holding his arm out with a large black thing crawling on it...I kinda flipped and started swatting away. Once it was off him I glanced around and found that it was just a cricket, <i>whew</i>. Caleb looked at me and smiled, his expression saying 'look mom what I found'! Lovely dear... I have the feeling this is just one of the many occurrences to come. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So here's to cheap fun!!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfoZSKZIkbPWycKsQD44QwiEaGzx1vCbkzQwccSY38cw0hI3rUJO3XMLMvBqRsVKz2F5taNH0wuXku3IBdpwIN7z2NR3soibOcHPyvGZBY54dDgmTB2WGsC3a5UJmrylTYv_r_hZOF-7tP/s400/DSC02570.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-49638993555297458752010-08-11T19:49:00.007-05:002010-08-11T20:35:17.123-05:00Viola!<div style="text-align: justify;">I present to you, pictures of the finished basement <b>Bathroom!!! </b>Finally...I know, I know. We had more problems with the ding-dang toilet, which delayed things even more. I was able to get pictures tonight and I'm posting them without further delay! But...in order to truly appreciate the finished product you must see what we had to work with, the <i>before</i>:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">{this was standing on the stairs looking in the direction of where the bathroom would go, a few notes: say buh-bye to the window, and the big black tube from ceiling to floor will have a little wall built around it}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBUiJCXDXtDQUCXl_wDUGi9E4zbKol8r6nThkLAPioMwXYwEktlMXVcQl4Z7B3GLyJRgvTaLOkL6xnlhFIagsSTKe633HxB5LUI_MIpjOUmc8qcgNj4n4mWy4DdLF1CFtpkmd72FShkE_o/s400/DSCN0642.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">and now the big reveal..</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrdICsQgzcfMeqRGh_GYzbsIVzHxaJxnsi9bKuQ_F8rpiJ07UVOeuNtNhO0C61gBaqddSyTCX-jZwKE_DZF4orlmBPP7vu3D0cyU-SF0aADmE8WIPgp9ahP5L0zhWdCrx7zyHLtjnMbXcm/s400/DSC02369.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">why, hello beautiful!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnrLQPcp5v_dseieyeF_8S7WA_1bYSJL46ct5cOy3CC_Tu9I9apba2j2YitRHt4RVz-TSabu9g1BuOiEgbiNbmX85f8hZzfehySCEv5SEGXdlzIqL6KPZbHAyT7rXL2hmFzlLwr2rd9Wfp/s400/DSC02371.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">take a look to the right</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiCGo6wHGcwOeGg-6KOM9uKHEYAOgCBZ_Yg3VEYuK1RhDusTi5aXfvuRg5rexKYBzRhRIaRpDvgjSK04scSIsirE-8F6Fs63nb-hc4jdbS-yzj3G_Iv9HJpd50l3YqU6xmkqIdGFhvthzF/s400/DSC02374.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">the shower</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq0WrNAHvpe5hf49eXbu9L0cyvcdsQhFC9gJSQsLc4rNaxQU3Vr-A1JiUpkW7mAMpLqGUfmS6ef5Vc7BDqgqqfUbpjPMew-jtzbPJhBIx7PNe7TFZLSEyQwJiOaHw9pLxN4EBgVPGI1uDh/s400/DSC02370.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">take a look to the left...</div><div style="text-align: center;">see the little privacy wall {that black tube we had to build around}</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzp1SbtHUgcQDm2WjEvTc5EhOfsJDwvYAZPAJ5rhF0E5EFv2bI84vIFlc3MieMerND5VA6tdOeO6DRm63Nakj_55wNM9ZsMIum2kTBl5hHUvdhy-zrGiuWFD5RTvUjkPzOkM-99JHViVJJ/s400/DSC02375.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">from above</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY5ypRWO5NxJDfy_kqwR9vN0I_Ls6_7N3mRLy-i06P0ijx0coq5HbEEaWRDm3osbvw6trhnnxsTNzcNt7YGs-8J6jKCwW8XuZ5wih__XpH_0iQgG9vDkjM9gO96Yr_9KoHKYtUkqCPtbZw/s400/DSC02377.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">and here's toilet #2...</div><div style="text-align: center;">umm, pun not intended :)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBPIhmLvkpZ-U74qHe03VWW2eD8VDd_e4PGXtb0y6VfP6Y2EkMHh9qHRCkD0NldXd9E_kgZkEFxXCH8B5NkgMbe4TNtXn66Y06xdHq5oZmvuNWoMhGeAbNQDku0fYh2HtjYBEQvtJa0WSC/s400/DSC02380.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">And so there you have it, our downstairs bathroom!!</div><div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-10168016181126499392010-08-07T20:40:00.004-05:002010-08-07T21:11:00.253-05:00Guest room is done!<div style="text-align: justify;">After the previous post, I was determined to finish some of those last touch ups things in order to complete some rooms. So I plowed through it today and actually got quite a bit of work done. This post will be much shorter and a little more on the positive side :) AND I have pictures to share! This room was our office and is now a guest-room w/ a work area. There isn't really a before picture needed for this one {just imagine a hutch on top of the desk, about 3-4 more pieces of furniture...well minus the bed, a bunch of boxes and piles of paper everywhere...clutter, clutter, clutter}. And now the after!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdK7wppA1FYSMEUJ5pDJ0Urqcr6LNA5CVHQOvNpXtA1193_HrMAJTuiMR-yv1yuiPYGSQaRd5FAJ3KnLOhE65iMpM52ujpWJdeeJ2oA8lZZFIguxmVOPnhoHXuHh4Vkwe1qpSU46PuohKL/s400/DSC02350.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpDbtZYVYWxZQd9peAB8R16IDs0-Fuf9ygc56hUVlbT3ArMINmP4iGCSvbM6ie3ZBxyFNgVIUfWyxEEDqd52h5xSqdnIFPsHCSRxNko6VqSIf72iFtLrYobre68ovg5T3ryC3VCPNiaQLE/s400/DSC02345.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEG5HOKxwo7qi5TVNdgtpEst57WEUS4zc9jrOU-9_6dYgoshg8E6WjJHZ-SZicoc6uKWzWDNem80KuC6LwkqWLJ8BJ8icVrFZ-7aWkiw9ezB54nz2qDyakkt0LmmAPTvkpWN5fhgmA3JYl/s400/DSC02348.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-73189293769160788932010-08-05T19:17:00.006-05:002010-08-05T20:48:33.332-05:00Home Improvement around every corner<div style="text-align: justify;">Okay, so I'm finally taking some time to update. I know I've said several times that pictures were to come and sad to say they still won't be here. Every room is waiting for something to be done before worthy of a picture. In this <a href="http://cutiecaleb.blogspot.com/2010/07/werrrre-baaaack.html">post </a>I said hopefully we'd have the bathroom finished by the weekend....and we did! Shortly after that, Jacob finished the flooring and baseboards in the rest of the downstairs and the downstairs was finished!!! What, you noticed that...<i>was </i>finished.<img src="http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif" alt="Italic" border="0" class="gl_italic" />Yea...about that. I should have taken pictures immediately when it was done so I could post them (but I still hadn't hung the pictures you see, would have made a total difference...well, maybe). Anyways, not too long after the bathroom was 'finished' the toilet started <b>leaking</b>!<img src="http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif" alt="Bold" border="0" class="gl_bold" /> Jacob found out what he thought it was, bought the replacement and it was the wasn't going to work with our toilet. So when Jacob went to buy a different piece the guy there at the store said make sure and check that your toilet doesn't have a hairline fracture, because that could cause the leaking too. Well, it does. Ugh!!! So now we may have to buy a new toilet and install that one (hopefully with no problems, and hopefully our floor isn't ruined from this water issue). So I should have taken the stinkin pictures even if I didn't have the room totally decorated, but that's just not my style. Moving on...to the other things we've been working on. Jacob's main focus lately has been on curb appeal. The usual mowing, trimming, weed eating...the not so usual :) deck washing, mulching, re-rocking our driveway (bought 22,000 lbs of rock...yea, that's a lot of rock!), cutting down the forest growing up our back fence...seriously the way things grow here is insane (Jacob had just cut it down last summer, and it was already taller than me by far). He's also been doing some other jobs that aren't really visual, but things that need to be done (fixing squeaky floors, rerunning wires, yada yada). We've also repainted the kitchen cabinets and replaced hinges. Most recent was the stairs, they needed to be sanded and painted, and Jacob installed a hand rail. While Jacob's been at work Mom and I have been making frequent runs to our storage unit we got a couple weeks ago. Trying to get rid of a lot of the stuff in the back unfinished part of the downstairs. I also just finished turning our office (which seemed to be the cram room...you know the room you stuff things into when people are coming over} into a guest room with a little work area. I think its pretty cute and I'd love to share pictures, but it still needs a few things done {you'd think I'd learn my lesson, because maybe tomorrow there will be a hole in the roof and we'll get a bunch of rain....just kidding!}. Today I went along and scrubbed doors {those spots everyone seems to touch and they get all grimy...what? that doesn't happen in your house? oh...}, baseboards and the kitchen appliances {got some good ideas from this <a href="http://lesscakemorefrosting.blogspot.com/2010/08/unconventional.html">blog</a>, and tried the toothpicks...worked great!}. The list of to-do's seem to be getting smaller and I'm beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel {not the bad one, a good one...like all this work has an end in sight}.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Sorry this isn't anything real exciting and I feel like its all I talk about or think about is house work, but it really is our life right now...just the way things are for the time being.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">To end on a more fun note, quick little blurp about Caleb. He's getting more and more daring, mischievous, mobile, strong, understanding, and character. Pretty much he's turning into a toddler, and I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that. I've had some near break downs of 'what happened to my baby boy', I can hardly remember him being a tiny baby. Away from the sad thoughts...and positive! I'm shocked at all the things he's beginning to understand. Like talking about daddy during the day, he'll run to the front door and wait for a minute to see if he's there. And all these words he now knows {<i>knows </i>not says}, if I talk about the ball, fish, etc. he'll go point at or get them. Things I didn't even know he knew. Everyone says its like this from now on, constant growth and learning more and more everyday. Another one of his big things has been growling, some of you may have heard him do this before...but this is a different growl. This is a monster/dragon growl, like it hurts my throat if I try and copy him. And he does it all. the. time. Funny kid.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Here's our growling fun lovin boy:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx6_Q-ELxJ43BYSgM1aq4_58ldO1ulZ_JMzuL4ejHxiaOZrk6kiUG407HQyBNxHwfdA7qCFEmbpnI00VnYuXu0quaQDgKuG0_M6QaTuGy2-wfAqG9Az8AdapfErNqXo-QeIp3I_xmgVkU0/s400/DSC02308.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-35902476169692477362010-07-23T16:32:00.006-05:002010-07-25T21:06:20.932-05:00Back to School...<div style="text-align: justify;">Seeing <i>back to school</i> signs and the sheets of the school supply lists really should be upsetting, reminding me that summer's coming to an end...BUT something comes with this unkind little reminder that makes up for it all. SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!!! I don't know how to describe the thrill I get walking into a store and seeing the isles of notebooks, pens, containers, notepads, clipboards, organizers....aaaahh! Seriously just the other day I hadn't really thought about the fact that school was right around the corner {since this will be only my second year being completely unaffected by the start of school...although last year doesn't exactly count since I was in the newborn mom stage and didn't even realize there was a world outside my home}, so when I walked into the store to that lovely surprise, I had to restrain myself from jumping around like a kid in a candy store. I did though have to do a quick run through just to <i>look</i>. Here are some of the things I like to browse through: </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/07/16/41/32/0007164132893_215X215.jpg" alt="Sharpie Permanent Markers Ultra Fine Point - Assorted Colors - 24 Count" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">PENS!!! Ouuuu...love writing in color!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/07/16/41/30/0007164130001_215X215.jpg" alt="Sharpie Permanent Markers Fine Point - Black - 12 Count" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">although black is good too...sharpie's fine point is wonderful</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.target.com/Erin-Condren-2010-Planner-Multicolor/dp/B002IF2YO0/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid3&keywords=planners&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-21&qid=1280108800&rh=subjectbin:3151061&searchRank=target104545&node=1038576|1287991011&searchSize=30&sessionID=179-8619503-4836204&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin,price,target_com_primary_color-bin,target_com_size-bin,target_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0"><img src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51R2irzK9QL._AA260_.jpg" alt="Product Image Erin Condren 2010 Planner - My Life (Multicolor)" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I love, love, love this planner...but it's a kinda spendy</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.target.com/ref=nav_2_t_logo"><img src="http://akimages.shoplocal.com/dyn_li/200.200.75.0/Retailers/Target/100725_p03ak_1_5_moi.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">^ so this is more my style</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.target.com/ref=nav_2_t_logo"><img src="http://akimages.shoplocal.com/dyn_li/200.200.75.0/Retailers/Target/100725_p03ak_1_4_moi.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">not much to say here, I just like the dry erase boards :)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.staples.com/Staples-Black-Wire-Mesh-Drawer-Organizer(Extra-Large)/product_804565?cmArea=page_rr"><img src="http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/Staples/s0314693_sc7?$sku$" alt="Staples Black Wire Mesh Drawer Organizer(Extra Large)" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">desk organizer....for all those new nifty supplies!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Now the last few items make sense to me, I <b>love </b>organizing and list making {in a way that only true lovers of organization could possibly understand...I could try to explain, but it'd really be pointless and make me sound crazier than I already have}. But I'm still unsure of the reason why I love office supplies...mystery I guess. So...now that I've made myself sound like a complete looney toon, I'll be ending this...now.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Soon to come: Pictures of the finished bathroom!!! I was so nervous to have Brittany (my sister in-law) try it on, because I had gotten the measurements over the phone and hadn't seen her in so long I didn't know how much she had grown. Well, it fit perfectly and looked adorable on her {if I do say so myself}!! This girl loves her clothes and she especially loved it because her sista made it for her. I picked up the shirt at the Thrift store for $3, and saw several others I wanted to get, but decided to try this one first. I'm excited to make more of these dresses because they're simple, turn out cute, and the possibilities are endless!! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPxMWGOD2OXscuFQo6vw3jWHgBxe-yTMrJBJg70dTSamRj7XyxGVJUPeVuFrvwI4255H6dZIOr3In9ND86PeCw4lR36dpS6Q5JI6cEpHdsyxLVMkj8ZsuP0nRUGGQXerIAMZ8KhzX1AQKu/s400/DSC02052.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1HtMrUxkpFrcFWhlBWZc64YTYrNW7XAKfuC203eYUVUz8beE1aJsseisflmMY9aHDzqlu1KPJtbK3_GyipJB4tCDhrwljvMAcV7pyetE2us9R-lQM8ukF2L8wLbwlq5RG30IBH5EJ-Enw/s400/DSC02061.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-90666418962921122972010-07-16T20:22:00.010-05:002010-07-17T22:09:52.103-05:00We'rrrre Baaaack!!<div style="text-align: justify;">After a day of packing, rushing, good-byes, glares, trying to entertain a one year old within a 2 foot area, changing multiple diapers within that same area (one of which I didn't change in time and he ended up peeing out of and then <b>I</b> had the wet pants...), trying (unsuccessfully) to get a very tired babe to sleep...you guessed it in the same 2 foot area :), landing at the airport at 1:00 am with still a 2 1/2 hour drive home, we were quite glad to finally be home and go to bed at 4 am Thursday morning. We had a great time visiting with our friends and family on our trip to Washington. It went by fast, but was a great break from all house work. We were gone for 10 days, so to tell all that happened on our trip would take several posts, so I'll just touch on the highlights. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">We stayed at Jacob's parent's house and all of Jacob's brothers were able to come visit too (he's one of six, 5 boys and 1 girl...Jacob is the oldest). That was a lot of fun, watching the brothers interact. Now that they're older and have their own identity and aren't ready to kill one another, they seem to really get along and can hang out and do things together. It was also fun to watch them with Caleb. I never would have pictured these guys being so excited about a baby, it just makes me smile seeing them as uncles. Which leads to another thing to talk about...Caleb had an extreme culture shock :) He's been use to our house hold of three people, quiet environment, and isn't really ever around a multitude of people. There were about 11 people staying at Jacob's parents, and there were always more people over during the evening. So...not a real quiet environment and definitely a multitude of people! He was extremely clingy and wouldn't hardly let anyone touch him for the first few days :( it was a bit frustrating. He got better as the week went on, although I don't think he ever really reached his real self. We kept telling everyone, at home he's so funny and smiley. I hope they all got to enjoy some time with him anyways. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwcm2GQGa1H1YiviW3hoatTfwna2cb2rVvgECrZSWnV7qvtNUGlbFC_aplKy5pVtnsioOGbvQr5ACWmtUgLSESXobH6xmP9yZdCpanLGHqMms8uUMj1MHYB6JgGSei0MD3zrSuvPSx0VBg/s400/DSC02013.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">While we were there, Caleb turned One! and all I kept thinking was 'we took you home from the hospital just a year ago'...seems to hard to believe that the time has flown by so quickly. What a fun year its been. A baby changed my life in more ways than I could possibly have imagined :) Since we were visiting, we got to celebrate his birthday with all our family! He had a book theme party {he loves his books!}, here's a few pics of the fun event:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3Qp_bLSzYbY1QCB1IQ_ffLfpuarsLCimTlRNKcRxBHDRyz9EJR4pYCOGtCCsnHr_ahy3OT8er2rb2_tN61J95LvyoP0D49aWAaQubjworVf1mtmqak4sIlNRYH7Kn5bRBvRE8EVwOWlKN/s400/DSC02099.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Caleb's personal cake to devour </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjagKuxKUuu0cYvXyDNkIiDuaJMkU8vrsZAT3XJxqEabATqNk-oeVABIOVx6jz989o3aJd19QHSKJTWSirNa7mrAU-1sihLrSylb-hENFzhAq0m0Lp2t7gFSGVpAABxvUXjLRjQeg1RIG1q/s400/DSC02100.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Caleb enjoying his cake :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7Pxpn9nxsSLgRWn66i10men6QmoPW_vQjEMf5y3tHUq3TDY3acACCMcBJLBHJYC2qa7oE7wmArb7UPbKrqCe4QP0G4ititG9H7MoVFJOcwvgJwE_2X0oa4lnquTw4BQKOussx27dUGVAU/s400/DSC02135.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Yes, he stuck his face in it...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGKrcUU_oaCR3A7S_kGRXbzgxWK1I0ZR7u-bX8iPa8hr3FYqBqO5KBdcNotblBFMa5EX2jw64eH-cruM5Vj3qGVSzhRqNJ8cK0EiUyY98RodOP_Aka0qPhw_jvyquJPsoA9K8VLB4LAFY9/s400/DSC02137.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Present time!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbjX6UaCMoMNsAJmPPA0rXfZw3_jizDbjJmDJn074wX6JAwMnNYYZlEkRV2LniYdJesIk1B98-W56ukQB5RHQ0nM_oAst2ioNgfTtv_A_OTyirKypmyt1UFcPegIOVKfNlGak8p0nXHwXf/s400/DSC02154.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Notice his <a href="http://cutiecaleb.blogspot.com/2010/06/celebrations-construction-and-crafts.html">shirt </a>;)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIsxZUbyrt22L8NBccv9J98x0xsEubrCwzrO9JDA-O49W7BoOOY2H24tMzLl7AnnGw0LG9kGYkv8v3cyewF2XeBovpf3D5GJ2UOYSk1ja-7vlX5xcDtLyFk8oa14aXYtEXZigKjH3u0mlX/s400/DSC02156.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">There's the babes: Caleb, Olivia and Jaxon</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4DiHUcjmf2r0jRtjxD7y8S72uf0_bw2Gjzze_fAgl4Z_GgD5UwbNMkeNmePoXDYTy49ro-WZmqbVjSD9EAr7PeDt0t4xu0nXDGwMbdeXeW7HfEDdF4ph__0Z0j-M0AX07JoJ015ATule4/s400/DSC02224.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I certainly enjoyed my time there too! I've been in some desperate need of girl time, and I think I got my battery charged enough to last me a little while. I got to catch up and get to know my sister in-law {Adriane} a little bit better, and am so excited for our friendship to grow! My brother in-law's girlfriend {Jenna} was also able to come up and visit and hang out. Thanks to Jacob, the girls were able to go in town a few times to get Starbucks, pedicures, do a little shopping, sunbathe...it was glorious!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">{Adriane, Me, Jenna}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs131.snc4/36900_1423010666926_1582500050_1056487_5355061_n.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Jacob's parents house is a 'hot spot' for socializing (they live 2 seconds away from the church, so after night church/practices/whatever, people go to their house to hang out), so we had several nights of game playing {I <b>love </b>games!!!}, laughing, movies and just overall fun times! Really missing some of those people... Caleb managed to fit in some socializing with his peeps too :) He got to see his cousin Jaxon (who is 2 months younger), Olivia (is 3 months older) a friend from church who is such a cutie, and a few other babes from church. It was so fun watching Olivia and Caleb together, she just wanted to hug him and talk to him...and he just couldn't get away fast enough, so she just ended up chasing him around and around. Hopefully next time they're together he'll be more into playing with other kids and won't be rude to the sweet girl ;) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The trip definitely gave us a big <i>umph </i>to get going on the downstairs. On our second day home mom and I painted the downstairs and the stairway (which was quite a sight...I had a brush taped to a broom stick and was balancing on the stairs, haha). Jacob's almost got the flooring done and has the next two days off to hopefully (by his timeline) finish the bathroom...we shall see. Here are some pictures of the downstairs construction:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">view of the bathroom from the outside, it's a pocket door</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQbePN9BWO9s7dzZgshguc9N47Fserxx6SBmDBJjEBEXC1uBGczY3AmyP5coky0dLCeXwPXs4CiHbrmeak6ijVcYNNfU6hoff6QQqSiIcNrlyb_gaazgOr_x6Bfw6xZrf9Nauj-T-tU3UV/s400/DSC01937.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">the shower </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip6jYm5TzL1vDFOVz8LBA9MoH-bXXa76VJ5XCEBL_7LljgDKtgfJdS3H22gmjeJQITh8B4E2w05z0bSMcEy0nMHrsSGt5ADBiZnZDnTIJVOfbKSx6n-iCBZQcfqC_-CIFYhlVAIQk5Gnjv/s400/DSC01941.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">the ground where the big hole was last <a href="http://cutiecaleb.blogspot.com/2010/06/celebrations-construction-and-crafts.html">update</a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN81CDzmF_K3TrrH8GalGb9M071V4KBjDUaHq4rC2MGvHITGOteNdGGw3XkQo5zH-9c55gRqkr0XtQwqGGFdpO5ugVeRX_Gx2NAuaAjTb1MfneHo7aw49XbRAL5jDcz3V7YPCs7_OwpaK9/s400/DSC01942.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">the toilet will go where the silver circle is on the ground, it kind of has a privacy wall between it and the door to the bathroom {which is to the left of the picture}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhas1w5mFwLokcv9fV-DhmeOr1sr467eF657beE_uAOFo0g_zIL7RK0cb6BQPiW0tcuwVZZfypVXyzUThZWhutBas2htW5N3VScPwxMyZI_xOyftXGCjE6Acgw2AZWfty9wFWy5eqeRMvW_/s400/DSC01940.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Hopefully there will be more pictures to come {soon!} of the finished bathroom!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-90631491160969680112010-07-03T17:04:00.003-05:002010-07-03T17:53:35.720-05:00Adventures Await<div style="text-align: justify;">We leave on a plane for Washington in 15 hours and are leaving the house for that plane in 12. Just thinking about that makes me a little ill. The excitement for the trip was taken over a few days ago by the overwhelming list of things to get done before we leave. I know as soon as we hit the road, at ummm....5 am, I'll be feeling much better and the excitement will return. One of the biggest things to work on was the downstairs, which remember our goal...to have it finished before we left. Yea, didn't make it. We did get a lot done, it's just not finished. Jacob just got finished texturing, so all the messy stuff is finished! Yay! Which is why we worked so hard this week so we could take down all the plastic (to keep the dust to a minimal) and clean up, so when we get back it'll be all the fun stuff (flooring, painting, hooking up the toilet/shower/vanity sink). I've been cleaning (like the deep/organizing type cleaning) the upstairs...I love coming home to a clean house. And the last few days trying to pack. Now lets just talk about that for a minute. Since Jacob's been working downstairs every second, I've been left to pack for the three of us (now I understand some of you have more children and may do all the packing for everyone all the time, but I'm use to getting help and not use to packing for a little one...so it's a bit stressful). And its also quite...interesting and challenging trying to pack with a little person who seeming to think he's 'helping' you. And every so often you find things in the other room that you thought you'd already packed...hmmm, how'd this get here? I just have to keep thinking, this time tomorrow we'll be in Washington with our family and beginning our much needed vacation...ahhh, just thinking about it makes me smile! </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Pictures of the downstairs will come later. And of course of our trip!</div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-43702321750503493282010-06-23T12:33:00.006-05:002010-06-23T22:39:18.559-05:00Day Savers<div style="text-align: center;">what's helping me make it through the day:</div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">thank you for all our early meetings</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.keurig.com/"><img src="http://www.sixtaste.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/coffee-keurig-maker.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">with a little of this</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://www.buythecase.net/uploads/products/200/5150002512.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">mmm...think I'll go have a cup</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">and of course wouldn't be breathing if it weren't for</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/80857/200.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">...okay, maybe I'd just have a <i>difficult time </i>breathing</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">On these hot and humid days I'm thankful for</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://blogs.e-rockford.com/gogreen/files/2009/09/air-conditioner1.jpg" /></div><div style="text-align: center;">AC !!!!!!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">and after some of this...</div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9AEsgMHUtDKwcC1OZK6Y4IVtk4B4D24MafG2e0LPXujXpeVo4s-IAq-3rMl5nOQKaQ23gt73dzu1J7xSvwqylY4cGFggfCQJi9sJdCcSd9zxhwuFxq5x75w4NLL1n10HkbH3HwRJ4XL4w/s400/P6230042.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">and a little of that</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEhnLV3HCUr5TtUd2JY49AbW6xqlOmx1THBaaistzOygVE11gkKtdVT0oxc7gHUvMnoQCm2wijXpvnYlyDtSh-lbHf7HYAYY2GKMSatIVVhAukoUOKQffW2yhtiO7jZuqtV9uG2aSpsMpg/s400/P6230054.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">my ultimate day saver is</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgi3HUuzBji4Hryz7yeVHh-I64u6Uvt46FCjCDjw4XCCc6LyOdpNzMjUVcy4V6ueHVPJmsK1VDD8XW7jZB5qpA9P7R4JbM_jA1M3_k9-pNm3J_GVQX72seXXUGirCmpgWcz24XpPBLaWN-e/s400/P5270006.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Nap Time!!!! </div><div style="text-align: center;">(sometimes for the both of us)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></span></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-73564104495979759072010-06-21T20:10:00.007-05:002010-06-23T12:02:38.847-05:00Celebrations, Construction and Crafts<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif"; mso-fareast-Times New Roman";mso-bidi-Times New Roman"; font-family:";"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">This last weekend was a very special one for our family, Jacob and I celebrated our fifth anniversary and we celebrated Jacob as a Daddy for his first Father's Day! Jacob and I were talking about how it doesn't seem like we've been married for 5 years already! And how 5 years sounds like such a long time, yet it really hasn't been...if that makes any sense :) And can I just say, I love my husband and am so </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">in </span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">love with him! What a great and wonderful man God has blessed me with. Its also so amazing seeing him as a Daddy and how much he loves and cares for Caleb. This weekend was enjoyable and relaxing </span></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">{which doesn't happen that often lately...the relaxing part that is}. Since we had some days to celebrate, Jacob took off working on the downstairs so we could all spend time together. Speaking of the downstairs, the latest updates. Starting the end of May Jacob began finishing the downstairs {at least what we're planning on having finished in order to sell it...then the buyers can do the rest}. The biggest project in all that is putting in a bathroom. He's done an amazing job at figuring out what to do and coping with running into problems he hadn't anticipated. The bathroom is almost all plumbed, all the walls are up for the downstairs and most of the dry wall is up. We're aiming to have the downstairs done before we leaving in 2 weeks for our trip to Washington {Yay!!! He is definitely getting a mind of his own! Which is fun and frustrating at the same time. It's neat to watch as he processes through things and has his own little agenda of what he wants to do. BUT its not fun when he doesn't want to do what he needs to, like...get dressed, eat, get his face washed, </span><i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">not </span></i><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">play with the electrical outlet. He's also developing an entertaining sense of humor. He walks around most of the time, crawls mostly just to get to something to help him stand up. So when our friends Sean and Nicole offered to spend an afternoon taking some pics of us we said 'yes please'! Nicole was also the one who took Caleb's newborn pictures (which we Love!). It's something she's interested in and I hope something she continues to progress with because she does a good job. We had a fun time, although I was a bit sad because it'd be one of the last times we'd see them before they move. We have enjoyed their friendship greatly while in Columbia, and are so happy and excited for their move, we'll miss them a ton! Anyways, back to the pictures! I said <i>we </i>had a fun time, but this excludes Caleb. He was not happy about the heat. the grass. the squinting. and hearing us say 'Caleb look over here' 20 million times. That explains the lack of smiles on his part.</div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwEBRKKKKr0l3Jg1cU_jh6_AdhiZqiVDd3Z_lNLEVOoLAXWZC_Cfl7iNMHY1o7mCwls9gmgdwoWB6E8xij7YAe0IZekRsDmv63wi4y05t5QbcX2RbGFb3YLwMMEWECrHOMQApc5mL_n9Z8/s320/DSC01461.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRoVI7Elq0GyQHniY0HttGg8M0p1xiXTSUK18uSCmzKr2NZ72sNUAD-mYkEM4nnKOa5FZEZTfru8P7u_1nF7bUWz2N_XjgItJjI0hyW3BqTfV7KyYkRI7TaKdA9FE4sesl669MtexM5hcz/s320/DSC01454.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjcdXSlOp-zqddmvmelTGTTwFOMqQT7mDmtT5BoucBRQauNBUiroiKwl2EKdLHdJH8KyeaKxngIpUsYmhMQPWoa5ZHFaHnjZVQ-PdgNLHR6PFq5bEHQhJsQZ4uoZpqfQyRTSG1CBT1glVR/s320/DSC01464.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRnsvN2iJOs40dIfo9ZaIrNXjr5qlfwImHKIdCAurPFmvS9948ScsVBR3gPN787NObp6Bw9fvRRWCTgXG83l5Vmc6gMOoIKH7HG0dZ6pmhZD1-_DSL6Yi1vXQJjlrlRkcBzbEWjH0uiwxL/s320/DSC01474.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ38mRyW-uJxYuy27muScH5acsK1BaEXnlaPhusfJCFcui8ZOv8eoT0SiB2KQrQM0ceFRdw1ufhmbsUg2sF-sfV1vuAAbeXdCmSRGfkmzBkErO2V4Nc-9fs9i6TSQnXNtEH-m3_ovHe5mU/s320/DSC01478.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinBJyHyBzBcBmTau54HF8Prij0iAgoDQoEv0d6INcYvbOH7LvkdOQDfEEjCEouuQtJoUdzUbN1FVySIkreoP_LiXg21iGMgmifUMJL212fvcUCC943w-LOusVxffqOoM06WwJxG9ukwnaM/s320/DSC01503.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZJoVT2JU-_d-xUkKE0lrnB8QqwITL14s1-YBHWnqeO6KQKN4uvncXgW5xON43EPTmjLWFdreAzWNsJNP98HeltugcqP552Cr1CdjH82ccASDZXg_ODBErPZVZsNBpyx98R-lmHMceaoHd/s320/DSC01506.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKXhae2O8KDrKx5gSdsjNh6wOYuMbG-LRAGUT-4_7Z2GraS59AAf8Kx3bEWsjI9NmT6gMo0f2d7QpS4aOfYyAgwd_GnR2wF0oBfWH4KGskgX2EG__hzpRxTH6I0VmaMx9PaSzdBc3WV7u8/s320/DSC01513.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvSLz90otog0Clw6iRgSs1Zp9VxGVDgTUcr47l7KBLtJX6y7fPAhUHHtgVe0pFvDWFbwtnfDyYiOOCiAiKXT3SYJ5am-Vjb9nXJqd-eFL2mOuwxObKvYMKcVswxHfa6RSEU-TkDbPrR2md/s320/DSC01531.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjUbPKwXkC_GSVpVZEoe5rXv1ziWtz_1BotRv4Mm5QWSKEnmNM5dAho6uAO84R-mZfxSRwhvAaal5dReCXJePNQ-tV4ZHYWzgePxR9BICTk_8SVslrhKom8PE-3GYaPQalqSLXbxSpO5G3/s320/DSC01584.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div>and here is a group shot :)</div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhL45c_KBsJvNwzny471Dxc9nhOMJMiZJiFGfJZe0iofdslLCawRvlUq6Oi87AUwkJ2_2uu9DPnTRefyYJtCoKDsNTtXJVgmKz0BnuKG1yG5R5tOD8nrgBB46h9mx6Qzh-JqjK3ptiqRc7x/s320/DSC01547.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div>wow, I'm surprised it let me upload that many pictures! </div><div><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-74892064492982273262010-06-03T17:24:00.012-05:002010-06-23T12:08:23.495-05:00More Home Improvements<div style="text-align: justify;">Whew! It's been an exhausting last couple of weeks! The latest of the house projects was our bedroom, one I had been dreading since we moved in {and was possibly one of the toughest, although I may say that after each one}. It too had been wallpapered once upon a time {like everywhere else in our home} and someone didn't feel like removing it so...they painted over it, and so did the next, and the next, and the...you get the idea. We decided not to go this same route because, well, it looked terrible. Now let me tell you, although Jacob should really be the person, removing wallpaper that has been painted over is TOUGH! None of the little tricks work that are suppose to with removing wallpaper because the paint has to be chipped away. It took a few days to remove the paint and then the wallpaper glue. It was also really discouraging because you do all this work to make it look better, but it actually looked worse {with discolored walls underneath, and scratches and chips from removing paint}, which was fine because we'd fix all that, but still. Then we had to patch all the spots {and Jacob had to put in a new piece of drywall in a spot that had been ruined} and those who don't know, mudding. takes. days. Because you have to let each layer dry before you can do the next. The last stages went better: painting, putting in a new fan, new shades, moving the furniture back and staging. I had been dreading it because I knew how much work it'd be and that the whole house would be in chaos because the furniture from our room went in the hallway and living room {which makes things quite difficult with a little explorer}. Also on top of everything, my Allergies started up. I know it's a combination of things: moving everything causes dust to stir up, all the construction creates dust and what not, not being able to clean well due to the chaos in the house, and its just that time of year. And not trying to be a cry baby, but when I say allergies I don't mean the little snuffle here and there...I feel like I'm going to die! Ok, maybe a bit of an exaggeration. But people who do have bad allergies know exactly what I'm talking about, we get the whole works {runny/stuffy nose, itchy watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, sore throat}. BUT, the bedroom looks wonderful!! And now that we're a week past the construction I'm beginning to really enjoy it. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Before:</div><div style="text-align: justify;">{yes, we forgot to take a before picture, again...and again the only one I could find was a <i>lovely</i> one of me. And you actually can't see the room very well, but it gives you the idea}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbM65Dt2mVU7tZ_P1Zhb8i65FenIyxkxr0YNtszPahc-v29dTodtUT4I48L5lSHOEq1EpXn8375dGhhUPuW80S9pT_YLuGaFg6rGY5LzNwrB_pM1_nmKyPX17BQ_en8uwnbLBp53snlz6c/s320/DSC00780.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">After: {in panoramic view}</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGHplBgslF8B-sQt5NT7Hvn7rFsL6wOIQb5OtSI7Y45viyDGKaHgxgGD-gLNrWEifow4oTYUyutcaoe4rtpouDcLtdBYTTPMFpeiwaQfT1O1JJvw9uRSb8BIMGI_CowXjmayX7gPcIaj_d/s400/DSC01592.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Also in the last week, my mom flew up to Washington for a visit {she'll be gone 5 weeks}. Which is exciting to be on our own, but also difficult because she helps A. Lot. And with Caleb going everywhere, it makes it difficult for me to work on things while he's up. More about him: he's becoming such a little boy...which is exciting and fun to watch but at the same time I'm thinking "what happened to my baby". He's learning he can do things to make us laugh, and he's also laughing at himself a lot {when he falls down, when he toots or burps...hehe}. One of the biggest things lately is the walking, he loves to walk. And its not just when we're encouraging it, he'll pull himself up on something/anything and just walk somewhere, doesn't matter. Here's a recent picture of the boy:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7nu3XS1P0_AGFxlcGnIu8V7EOJSr2FxzlooeC6VeU8_HVEoYcSmXayL_cjVwiFVCKeacywDyUdFB71JA8sOFAyJ1IbA9klTeO5kffVKsyCKSFHoexYnQZfLM4jFF07xewAvjwy7TFmvCP/s320/DSC01646.JPG" /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I'll post some more pictures later. We got together with some friends {the same ones who took his newborn pictures} and they took some family pictures that I have to put on here :) </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well, I didn't intend on this being so long, but once I got going it just kept going...and there you have it, our latest news. </div><div><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-25641073904411538952010-05-17T20:30:00.004-05:002010-06-23T12:04:29.660-05:00Our Growing Boy<div>Look mama, I can walk! </div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVMo0x2xeKlAv6D7ljL1k_Mxyy0AaV263R5xR6cQYEjRF-BHH-YCScmevtSIYhb5dTrduLCwM2gSVkXlMObFy7rRaEySh4WZkuxBqd539sIBH5unxvnoAIYak7-xn7Hl9gpHTVnMeL5cwq/s320/DSC01419.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div>Caleb loves being outside with Daddy, and Daddy enjoys it too</div><div><br /></div><div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZo2xiOue17UMPaAYvVYuxPcNhtBXVsdHpjMz74eDKXBAWp3qDJujejorpwBTzJYk39AWtDQB5HFW6YYop9gIwat0OYrQDuxTJf8WXuuuaRJ0HqoM7kTd16-DsomUSSS_9aYxyTolxJfB_/s320/DSC01322.JPG" /></div><div><br /></div><div>He is such a ham! For some of you, after reading this you may say 'well, duh'. but for me it has been a real eye opener.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">I've recently realized how much STUFF we have, and how much of it we DON'T need! Now I would like to say my house is fairly neat and I'm a real good organizer, but that doesn't mean we don't accrue...things. So, how did this all come about might you ask? A few factors. I began going through boxes downstairs, trying to organize and make room for Jacob to work on finishing more of the downstairs. I found boxes that we haven't opened or used in the 2 years we've been here! The other thing is, we decided to do a garage sale. So I began going through other places in the house to find things we don't need or use. Like clothes! After going through and pulling out things that don't fit, I don't like, or are old, I had only half my clothes left! We did this also with movies and have narrowed it down to about 200 (and put at least that many in the sale). So...part of my epiphany is that I need to be able to get rid of things when they're old or aren't being used and not get things unless I NEED them. An example- Post-its and other notepads (yes I know, strange, but I have a thing for them), keep some get rid of the rest and then buy as I need them. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">This has been such a good feeling!! Knowing that I now don't have to find room for all the junk/stuff/things and that what we have is what we need. And when it really comes down to it, we don't need that much. I don't know how to describe it, but it's like I just realized I'd rather just purge (that's really the best way to describe what's going on in our house) all this stuff and kinda start over. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Well now, hope people aren't picturing a crazed Manda throwing things out the window and that our house is now empty. But it will (meaning there are boxes out and about and things being sorted) eventually have in it just what we need and I will be at peace having fulfilled my wonderful epiphany.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-14801872425595763902010-05-09T19:19:00.007-05:002010-06-23T12:05:01.055-05:00What a Blast!<div style="text-align: justify;">Today was full of exciting events, and what a better day than Mother's Day ;) </div><div style="text-align: justify;">This first story isn't necessarily one of the exciting events, but was the prelude to one. This Sunday at the church was baby dedication day, something I've been so excited about. I was worried about being late {not because we usually are...uh-hum}, and in all the hussle and bussle this morning I wasn't even thinking about the fact that we were going to be in front of the church, thankfully Caleb was lookin pretty cute...which ended up not mattering anyway {I'll get to why in a bit}. So as we're driving to church {early might I add}, we hear this loud fart in the back. But not just any fart a....juicy fart. I'm thinking "Oh, no"...and it was, oh yes it was. And some of you may be thinking 'well didn't you have extra clothes, you over prepared mama you?' Anyways, 50 wipes later, with a onesie in the garbage {it was beyond help}, borrowed shorts from a boy a year or more older and his polo shirt somehow saved, there we stood on the stage smiling thinking please don't let there be anymore, dedicating our baby boy to the Lord. It really was neat and I really am excited for the task that lays before us. One of the things that the church gave us was a drawing of a pair of hands with Caleb's name and birthday written on them and in the letter it said "This picture is a reminder to you that your child is valuable to God. He remembers them and has chosen you to guide them. They are 'on loan' to you so that you may, in turn, teach them about Him." How neat is that? I love the concept that Jacob and I were chosen to guide Caleb, no one can do a better job than us, we know our child and it is our responsibility. Which can also be a bit overwhelming too. </div><div style="text-align: justify;">On to the other events of the day! As Jacob said earlier today, since Caleb can't get you a present, he saved all his 'tricks' for today just for you. This morning he said mama for the first time! *tear, sigh* He's been saying dada for ages! I could tell that lately he's been working up to it, but he officially did today! The other event is...he started walking!! It was crazy! He's been standing for longer and longer periods of time, but just couldn't figure out how to get the feet a movin, unless he was holding a hand. Then today, Jacob was holding his hands and he just let go and walked about three steps to me!! It was like something clicked and he got it. He did it over and over, along with lots of tumbles and spills. Tonight just before bed he walked about 5 feet by himself. I figured he'd be a early walker, but wow...not sure if I'm ready for this. But ready or not, here he comes!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; "></span></a><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a></div>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7878281542268671769.post-69316125080586963232010-04-30T15:58:00.002-05:002010-04-30T16:25:42.270-05:00Bit of everything<div style="text-align: justify;">So it feels like its been for-ever since I last posted on here, but its only been two weeks. That's actually how this last month has been, busy...but kinda slow. Jacob's parents came down to visit from the 16th - 19th, and we had a fun time with them as usual. It was short but we got to spend some good time together. Caleb did really well. Lately when other people have gone to hold him (even grandma who he sees everyday) he'll cry and fuss till I take him, so I was glad when he let them hold and play with him. They also got to see him crawl, which was perfect timing since he learned the day before they came. Jacob and his dad worked on his truck quite a bit and got it running, yay! While the girls {and Caleb} gabbed and went shopping. On Sunday we took lunches and after church we went to the park and ate an walked around, it was a very enjoyable afternoon. We miss them bunches! </div><div style="text-align: justify;">So, let's see what else...Oh, more house work. Jacob has put up a new garage door, which the old one hasn't worked since we've been here, so that it really nice! I think next might be doing the bathroom downstairs (and just to clarify, there isn't currently one there). </div><div style="text-align: justify;">And as far as Caleb well, wow can that child move! Its hard to believe he just learned how to crawl. I'll set him down and turn around and poof...he's gone! He's also now officially a cruiser. He moves from one piece of...I was going to say furniture but really anything...to the next. Today he crawled to a wall, stood up and cruised along it to the bedroom. We think he knows what dog is and is attempting to say it. His favorite is, of course, Da-da-da-da-da. Whenever I say ma-ma, he shouts back DA-DA-DA-DA. Boy is this kid fun!! Everything is entertaining and he's doing something new everyday it seems. Well, he's currently taking a nap (which is huge fiasco all over again, now that he's learned to stand up in his crib) so if I want to get anything else done, now is my chance...I was thinking you'd be able to get more done when they got older because they'd be more independent, but now I have to have an eye on him always!</div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54488/77/C3618E70AC93CC5CAE0B60863F09636E.png" style="border: 0 !important; background: transparent;" /></a>The Schuler Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09647771750389033487noreply@blogger.com0
