Appointment

We had Caleb's check-up on Monday and it went pretty well. He weighs 16 lbs 6 oz and is 26 inches long. His weight gain has slowed down from the 3 lbs a month he was doing, he grew more in length this time. Dr. said his height and weight are trying to balance out. He also got his vaccinations, which wasn't fun. Its so hard knowing that it hurts him (and he's so little...kinda), and hearing his cry say "No Mom, its not okay!" Our visit took forever! We were there an hour and a half. By the end he was starving and tired. Anyways...he's doing well now, yesterday he wasn't quite himself (which is normal after the shots) but he's happier today :) We were also given the go ahead on starting solids! Yipee!

Tomorrow

I'm so anxious for tomorrow. Caleb has his 4 month appointment! I love taking him in and finding out how much he weighs and seeing our doctor, but it also means he gets his shots :( Last time he did so well, but I know he is more aware now and can get startled or upset by something. I'm worried this time will be more difficult (for me at least). Thankfully Jacob gets to be there, and I'm going to try and not let Caleb sense my worries. I'll be writing again to share his weight, height and all that good stuff!
We went to church this morning and Caleb sat in the service with us. He fell asleep during the songs and stayed asleep until the end of the sermon, Yay! Afterwards he was smiling at anyone who would look at him, he'll be such a flirt...I can feel it already.
Today the emphasis was on Joshua 24:1-15, but especially verse 15:

"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

4 months!

Can't believe Caleb is 4 months today! It's weird how it feels like just yesterday he was born, but at the same time like he's always been in our life. It's crazy how much a baby changes your life. Jacob and I were just talking about what a good boy he is. He is usually happy and smiling, even if he's upset you can usually get him to smile. Not too many things bother him, he's pretty flexible. Another Mom told me this and now i think I understand, she said when your child reaches each phase (_ months/years or sitting, crawling, talking) you think 'it doesn't get better than this'. I'm loving this stage right now! I can tell he's learning new things, developing stronger muscles, and his personality is coming out. It's so fun to watch and be a part of!

Here we go...

Wow, I wish I had started something like this awhile ago! But I didn't and here I am now. Quick update, Caleb is almost 4 months now and weighs...who knows 17-18 lbs (he has a Doctors appointment on the 16th and we'll find out then), he's very happy and healthy.
This last week has been quite full. Jacob's birthday was on Monday and he had the day off, which we figured was the first in a few years. We enjoyed time together as a family, it was very nice. We also got our flu shots that day. He has drill this upcoming weekend so he's been working a lot trying to make up the hours he'll miss. I had my MOMs group at the church on Thursday and we made our first sale on etsy!
My favorite part of almost everyday is when I go to get Caleb up for the day and he's laying happily awake in his crib and he looks at me and squishes his whole face up in a goofy little grin that says "Good morning Mommy, I missed you!"

Have a great and wonderful weekend!
